“Originally from Lincoln I spent several years living and working in Glasgow at a dedicated early pregnancy unit before moving back to my home county. On deciding my future career move I knew I wanted to continue with a dedicated and autonomous early pregnancy service. Having explored what early pregnancy services were available, I decided the best way to utilise my knowledge and skills would be to provide a high quality, easy to access, professional yet affordable service for the women of Lincolnshire, Newark and surrounding areas.

As well as being an experienced Midwife and Sonographer  I am also a mother and grandmother, which brings a wealth of knowledge as well as a understanding of the anxieties that face families in the early stages of pregnancy. During my career I have supported and counselled women who have sadly experienced recurrent miscarriage (often resulting in happy endings). I have diagnosed many ectopic pregnancies, molar pregnancies, ovarian cysts, fibroids and other gynaecological anomalies.

My aim for every appointment at ScanLinc is to provide a first class personalised service, catering for both the physical and emotional needs of each family, resulting in a positive and valuable experience .”

Please contact me if you have any questions.

I trained as a midwife in Cambridge and then returned to my hometown Lincoln where I practiced as a midwife at Lincoln County Hospital. I then found my passion caring for women during the antenatal period. It was during this time in my career that my interest in ultrasound developed. I was enrolled onto a postgraduate Medical Ultrasound course through which I was trained at Pilgrim Hospital in early pregnancy, mid-trimester and third trimester scanning and gained the title Midwife Sonographer.

My experience as a midwife is invaluable to my role as a sonographer as I have been privileged to support many women, and their families through the rollercoaster that pregnancy can be.  Being able to combine my two passions into one role in order to give a great service is my main aim.

Upon learning of the services being offered at Scanlinc I knew this was somewhere I could allow my passions to flourish. Pregnancy is such an important and unique time and I strive to ensure that this is reflected in each appointment by tailoring the experience to women and their families’ emotional and physical needs.

“I am really excited to have joined ScanLinc! The services offered in the clinic are so personal and we see amazing women every day.

After experiencing complications and loss in my own pregnancies and accessing maternity services I knew I wanted to become involved and have the privilege of supporting women and families. I secured a placement at ScanLinc and gained qualification with Birmingham City University .

I have 3 children of my own and have lived in Lincoln for almost 20 years having first moved here to study Psychology at the University of Lincoln. In previous roles I have worked with people from all over the world and am trained in adult mental health first aid (MHFA England). Alongside being a Sonographer at ScanLinc I am also drawing on previous experience and taking responsibility for our web based content, communications and business administration.
